The consultation and treatment

My aim is to work with you to help you regain the best possible level of health.

Coming to see me involves a full and thorough consultation where you are able to relate your health problem in detail, and talk about yourself, your health history, likes and dislikes and more. Most people find the experience positive and enjoyable. I allow one and a half to two hours for the first consultation (one hour for children and babies). Young children are accompanied by their parent(s) and usually play with toys during the consultation.

My job is to find out what makes you individual and to understand how you have become ill, understanding your illness at its deepest level and seeing the patterns in your "totality of symptoms" that I then "match" to a homeopathic medicine, or remedy. The chosen remedy is given as pills or liquid drops and is pleasant to take - and easily accepted by children!

An important part of your care is careful management over the following weeks or months, repeating or changing the remedy as necessary until you are better. The time it takes for this to happen very much depends on how long you have been ill and your general vitality. Homeopaths find that children, for example, tend to respond more quickly to treatment. Follow-up appointments last between 30 minutes and an hour and are usually monthly to start with and at greater intervals as your health improves. You are able to speak to me on the phone between appointments as part of your care.
